GCC1230 - Happy Birthday

This is the card I made for the Outlawz Challenge for the week of 12/30. We were to use a digi image from Oak Pond Creations and I chose the Karma Chameleon. I thought he looked cute. I colored him in greens, pinks and purples. I also added googlie eyes to him. I'm going to need birthday cards so I decided to add that as the sentiment. I used the Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge to cut the image out. I also used the Center Point function so I could have this cut in the shape I wanted. I used this card as my inspiration from Pinterest.

For your Wedding Mike and Sarah

I made this card for my cousin and his wife for their Christmas Eve wedding. They had snowflakes on their invitation so I added a snowflake from the Cricut Pretty Pennants cartridge. I used red and black and silver and that happened to be their colors. I helped them decorate 21 Christmas trees. It was a really pretty wedding.

This is the card for the Outlawz Greeting Card challenge for 12/23/2013. The theme this week is to create a project that uses lace and ribbon. I really wasn't planning on this card taking this look but I incorporated both lace and ribbon. I used this sketch from My Favorite Things that I pinned on Pinterest.

Happy Birthday Cara

I made this for my good friend and craft partner in crime, Cara before I left fir vacation. I actually sent Cara a text to wish her a happy birthday yesterday, but I was two days early. She loves peacocks and loved this card feature on my new French Manor cartridge when she saw it. I told her she couldn't look at those two pages where the peacock and feathers were. I used green glitter paper and turquoise Stickles for the blue part of the cut out in the feather. This card isn't very thick and not many layers which is really strange for me. It's hard to add a whole bunch without covering up the design on this type of card though. I think Cara will really like this. I added the halographic flat sequins and gems on top for some extra bling (as if the feathers aren't enough)! I took a picture with the flash so the glitter and Stickles would show up more. It's pretty sparkly for being so simple.

Supplies: Bazzill, The Paper Studio, Neenah, Stickles, Cricut, French Manor cartridge, sequins, bling, SU Garden Greetings stamp.

GCC1216 - Blue Hues

Here is my card for this week. The Outlawz challenge for the week is blue hues and to use an Oak Pond Creations image. I loved this fish and knew it would work perfectly with blues. Blue is a hard color for me to use, however these shades seem to be easier for me. I colored the image with Copics and American Craft alcohol inks. I added more colors until it looked like I wanted it. I went over the fins and tail with SU iridescent ice which I tried to showcase in the detail image. I added three layers of gloss over the water bubbles so they would stand out. I used my Edge to Edge Cricut cartridge. I love this cartridge however if you go smaller (which I did), the shapes do not cut all the way through. I used this particular shape to mimic fish fins. I used this sketch from Pinterest.

Best Wishes Gaurav

I made this card for a guy I work with that is leaving the company. We have worked very closely on projects over the last two and a half years and I'll really miss his expertise and knowledge. I had everyone sign the card or jot down some comments and I printed them and stuck in the envelope with the card. This is pretty few layers for me, but I kind of like it as a masculine card.

I kind of used a card off Pinterest as inspiration but then it took on a whole life of its own.

Supplies: SU Kraft, The Paper Studio, Cricut, SU label punch, Mustache table confetti (I had no intention of using it for table confetti when I purchased it), Memories ink, Fiskars, Button.

GCC1209 - That's Entertainment

This weeks challenge on The Outlawz is to create a card or project that reflects your favorite TV show, book or movie. I used Austin Powers movie because there are some funny lines. My absolute favorite movies are: Shawshank Redemption, Sweet Home Alabama, While You Were Sleeping, Coyote Ugly, and Big Fat Greek Weeding. I couldn't come up with anything cute for those movies so I went with Austin Powers.

GCC1202 - Tag It

My cards for the Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge (GCC1202). I originally made the card with the kite and wasn't sure I liked it so I made the second one. Both have a tag, and both are very different. I paper pieced the kite on the second tag and used the Cricut Damask cartridge on the first tag.

GCC1125 - Anything Goes

This is my submission this week for the Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge. The theme this week is to use punches or Anything Goes. This theme is the best because we can do anything and push ourselves. I did a little of each. I used the Crate Paper pack and wanted to use as many of the designs as possible. 14 different patterns. I must be creating challenges within my own self. lol. The sentiment and main panel are popped up for added dimension. I used this scrapbook layout from Pinterest.

GCC1118 - Sunshine cat

Here is my submission this week for the Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge. The sponsor this week is I Brake for Stamps and I chose this cute sun bathing cat. Isn't he cute (I think all cats are boys since mine both are...lol)? He is doing what I love to do. Lay in the sun and be outside. There are lots and lots of layers on this card. 13 to be exact. Wow. That's a lot. I wasn't really planning for that, however when the patterned papers were without the mat, it looked flat so I added the mat and it added that extra dimension. The theme this week is to use the digi stamp and no rubber stamps on our cards. We could use a rubber stamp for our sentiments, but I chose not to use any at all. I used my new Cricut cartridge called Small Talk Frames and Tags. I think I'm really going to like this cartridge. It will great for card making and to add banners to cards and scrapbook pages. The sun and the sunshine banner were both cut from this cartridge. I spent the full amount on this cartridge because I think it will be so useful and fun. Michael's sells this cartridge exclusively (only through the end of 2013) and they don't put their cartridges like this on sale often if ever. I used this scrapbook layout I saw on Pinterest as my inspiration.

GCC1111 - Sledding Snowman

My submission for this week's challenge is to use an image from Oak Pond Creations. I picked this cute snowman for two reasons, one, I love snowmen and two, he just says happy and fun. I printed off the image and then colored all the parts with Copics. I don't have a whole lot of Copic colors so I had to kind of ad lib. After the image was colored, the reds didn't quite match so I added Stickles to give it some shine.I added Stickles to the hat, scarf, mittens, all the fur around the edges, and the runners for the sled.

My love for snowmen started shortly after I moved to Arizona from Iowa. I think they are so cute and they always have a fun expression on their faces. Have you ever seen an unhappy snowman? I haven't. I sure do not appreciate snow now, so the cute snowmen will have to do.

I used this card off Pinterst as my inspiration.

CAS1103 - Sparkle and shine

I made this card to play along in the Outlawz CAS challenge last week. The challenge was to use bright colors, one or all - pink, green, blue, orange, and yellow. I had 13 ideas drawn and didn't use a single one. I decided to use my sparkle and shine stamp so had to go with glitter paper and gems. I posted both cards in case the one with gems isn't CAS.

Supplies: Neenah, The Paper Studio, Studio G, bling, Copic markers, Sharpie markers.

GCC1104 - Create a bookmark

This week's greeting card challenge on the Outlawz (GCC110413) is to create a bookmark. I created a bookmark and a card so it would have something to sit on. I'm sending this to my grandma and made it with the intent she can use it on her bible since she goes to bible study a few times during the week. I tested it out and it's really flat so it won't hurt the spine. I was proud of myself that I could add as much dimension and still keep it flat. I tested it out on a magazine, a bible, and another book. It will be perfect. I hope she actually uses it. When I tacked down the stripe paper, I did not use adhesive at the corner so the bookmark would fit and still look like the frame around the card.

I used this tutorial off Splitcoast Stampers for the corner bookmark. I also looked at Pinterest for some inspiration, but after the bookmark itself was made, the elements just kind of came together since I was using the cross stamp and it took up most the space.

This month's sponsors are:

I first showed the card with the bookmark on the corner, the bookmark all by itself, and the bookmark next to the card.

GCC1028 - Shine

I made this card for the GCC1028 challenge on the Outlawz challenge board. This weeks challenge is to create a card that shines or anything goes. I saw this Jana Eubanks sketch and knew right away I wanted to use my new edge-to-edge cartridge. This cartridge will really come in handy for cards and scrapbook pages. I really like how this card turned out. Using sketches intended for scrapbook layouts adds a whole different set of options.

Join us on the Outlawz for out fun challenges.

CAS1027 - Spooky Halloween

This is my last CAS card for the Outlawz challenge board as Guest Designer. This card just makes me smile. The red eyes on the spider really set it off in my opinion. I cut the web from a Teresa Collins scary cartridge from my Cricut - available in the Cricut Craft Room right now. I love that web.

Supplies: Neenah, Bazzill, Memories, Cricut, Teresa Collins digital image from CCR, Bazzill bling, misc bling, red sharpie to color bling, Studio G.

GCC1021 - Thanks for Everything

This is my entry in the Outlawz Greeting Card (GCC1021) challenge this week. The theme was Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater. We had to add pumpkins to the card. I used papers from a pack I purchased for $2 on a grab bag clearance. I keep checking back to see if I can find deals like this again and haven't been that lucky. My only regret with this pack is that I only purchased one and not more.

All the gold is shimmery and metallic and matches the gold button in real life.

CAS1020 - Hurry up and Relax

This is my third submission as Guest Design Team member for the CAS Outlawz Challenge board. This week, the theme is to relax. We all have been busy with work and life and want to relax prior to heading into the busy holiday season.

Since moving to Arizona several years ago, I have become quite a flip-flop wearer and collector. I have most colors and many styles. It is definitely part of my way of life now as far as shoes go --- just don't tell my foot doctor that. He lectured me for wearing flip-flops when he treated me for my bone spur. : }

I found this image on Pinterest.

Flip-flops say relax and comfort to me.

Supplies: Neenah, Bazzill, The Paper Studio Khole Lane pack, Cricut, Sure Cuts A lot, Bazzill bling, Stamp, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities.
