GCC1028 - Shine

I made this card for the GCC1028 challenge on the Outlawz challenge board. This weeks challenge is to create a card that shines or anything goes. I saw this Jana Eubanks sketch and knew right away I wanted to use my new edge-to-edge cartridge. This cartridge will really come in handy for cards and scrapbook pages. I really like how this card turned out. Using sketches intended for scrapbook layouts adds a whole different set of options.

Join us on the Outlawz for out fun challenges.

CAS1027 - Spooky Halloween

This is my last CAS card for the Outlawz challenge board as Guest Designer. This card just makes me smile. The red eyes on the spider really set it off in my opinion. I cut the web from a Teresa Collins scary cartridge from my Cricut - available in the Cricut Craft Room right now. I love that web.

Supplies: Neenah, Bazzill, Memories, Cricut, Teresa Collins digital image from CCR, Bazzill bling, misc bling, red sharpie to color bling, Studio G.

GCC1021 - Thanks for Everything

This is my entry in the Outlawz Greeting Card (GCC1021) challenge this week. The theme was Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater. We had to add pumpkins to the card. I used papers from a pack I purchased for $2 on a grab bag clearance. I keep checking back to see if I can find deals like this again and haven't been that lucky. My only regret with this pack is that I only purchased one and not more.

All the gold is shimmery and metallic and matches the gold button in real life.

Here are the sponsors for this week's challenge:

CAS1020 - Hurry up and Relax

This is my third submission as Guest Design Team member for the CAS Outlawz Challenge board. This week, the theme is to relax. We all have been busy with work and life and want to relax prior to heading into the busy holiday season.

Since moving to Arizona several years ago, I have become quite a flip-flop wearer and collector. I have most colors and many styles. It is definitely part of my way of life now as far as shoes go --- just don't tell my foot doctor that. He lectured me for wearing flip-flops when he treated me for my bone spur. : }

I found this image on Pinterest.

Flip-flops say relax and comfort to me.

Supplies: Neenah, Bazzill, The Paper Studio Khole Lane pack, Cricut, Sure Cuts A lot, Bazzill bling, Stamp, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities.

GCC1014 - People Strengthen Others

I made this card this week for the Greeting Card Challenge (GCC1014) on the Outlawz challenge board as my second entry as a Design Team member. The challenge this week is to use two or more patterned papers. That's sure not hard for me...however, this paper pack by Crate really pushed me out of my comfort zone. I normally do not use papers with flowers. I used this card off Pinterest for my layout and inspiration however I can't find the pin so went to the blog. There are lots of layers on this card.

Come on over to the Outlawz boards to join our challenges.

This month, our Sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.

CAS1013 - Missing You

This is my second posting as Guest Design Team member for the CAS Challenges on the Outlawz Challenge board. This week's challenge is to make a card that shows someone you miss them. This is my very favorite color scheme (hot pink, white, and black). I will be sending this card to my Alpha Xi Delta sorority daughter Kristina to let her know I'm thinking of her and missing her. She and I were instant friends and still remain that way. She is one of those friends where we won't talk for ever but pick right back up where we left off the last time.

Supplies:  Neenah, Bazzil bling, Recollections, bling, studio G, SU top note, Cuttlebug, Ribbon.

Thank You Cara - Isn't this fabulous?

My good friend Cara made me this beautiful card for becoming a full-time Design Team member on the Outlawz Challenge board. This card is just beautiful in person. The front is vellum and it goes over the stamped and chalked image on the second layer. Cara even used pink since that is a favorite color of mine. That had to be so tricky for her. lol. I just love it. I pulled the picture off Cara's blog so it would show her watermark.

GCC1007 - Smile - First DT card submission

Whohoo!!! This is my very first submission as a full-time Design Team member for the Greeting Card Challenge on the Outlawz Challenge board. I'm so excited.

This weeks challenge is "Smiles". I actually really like how this turned out. I had an idea in my head and it went together perfectly and exactly like I wanted. I used my new Groovy Times Cricut cartridge which I have been eyeing forever. I finally found it for $9.99 so had to get it. I just love it. I'm sure you will see some additional cards using the images off this cartridge. For those of you who know me, know I'm really a hippie at heart. I think I'm a preppy hippie if that makes sense or exists. I was born a few years too late to be a real hippie so I'll just live in my own 70s world even though its 2013. I love peace signs, neon colors, go go boots, rainbows, flare jeans, big sleeves, hoop earrings...you name it. Well anyway, on to the card and to show off how I wanted to use a smile. I not only used this super cute image, I also used my black and white polka dot paper. You see this on a lot of my projects when I can use it. : ) I popped up the smiley face image for dimension.

This month, the sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps. So come on over to the Greeting Card Challenge on the Outlawz board and play along with us.

I saw this sign a few weeks ago at a sandwich shop near work. I had to take this picture and since I mentioned hippies above, it's too funny not to post. Apparently, Vermont has a large hippie population or used to. My coworker and girlfriend thought I was crazy for taking this picture.

GCC0930 and CC1001 - Shine/Get Well

I made this card for the Outlawz Greeting Card and Color Challenge for this week. The greeting card challenge was "anything goes" and the color/inspiration challenge was to use grey, red, and aqua and add chevrons. The twist was to use a fruit or vegetable. Boy do I love these colors together. I had this design in my head as soon as I saw the colors. I made this card for a sorority sister who just had surgery on her neck. I paper pieced the cherries and leaves and colored the stems. I intentionally flipped the grey chevron paper. I'm still contemplating if I should cut another piece so the chevrons go in the same direction. I used this card off Pinterest for inspiration.

Supplies: Neenah, SU basic grey, Recollections, Bazzill, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders, Cricut, Elegant Edges cartridge Me-E Inc stamp, Inkadinkadoo stamp, SU garden greetings stamp, Copic, Paper piecing.

CAS1006 - Thinking of You

This is the first week of me being a Guest Design Team member for the CAS (Clean and Simple) challenges on the Outlawz Challenge board. I will be the Guest Designer for the month of October. The CAS challenge for this week is to make a CAS card with a tree.

In Arizona, down in the valley, we don't have much of a change of season. So for the most part, the trees are always green. My favorite tree is the palm tree, but this cute tree had to be used. I love to paper piece so that's what I went with. I used a Page Maps sketch for my design.

Thanks for looking.

Supplies: Neenah, Sonborn (from Sam's Club), Studio G, Pagemaps sketch

Happy Birthday Dad

I made this card for my dad. He is an avid motorcyclist. One that enjoys every kind of cycles. He has been riding since he was three. While it's not my favorite hobby he sure enjoys it. He has seen some of the most beautiful parts of the country on his bike. I saw this paper and just had to get it. Then, I saw the stamp...had to get that too. See how this hobby happens? lol. I used a card off Pinterest as my inspiration.

CAS0929 - Baby Girl

I made this card for the Outlawz CAS challenge this week. The challenge was to make a baby card because September is Baby Awareness Month. This was much harder than I thought. I cut out the bottle with my Cricut and was going to place the bottle back in the negative space, however after I embossed, I decided to place it up on pop dots to give it dimension.

Supplies: Neenah, Bazzill, Unknown, Cricut, Doodlebug Charm cartridge, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug embossing folder - seeing dots, SU everyday flexible phrase 2, SU scallop border punch.

GCC0923 and CC0924 - Happy Fall Y'all

I made this card for the Outlawz Greeting Card and Color Challenges. The greeting challenge was o make a fall card and the color challenge was to use marigold, faded blue, and driftwood. I used Seize the Sketch #4. I really like this sketch. It really lends itself to using different papers in the background.

Supplies: SU Kraft, SU Soft Suede, DCWV, The Paper Studio, Unknown, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders, leaf punch, Studio G, Memories ink, SU Swiss dots embossing folder.
