TCCCB0129 - Hello

This is my first post for The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog as a Design Team member. The challenge this week is to use ribbon and or lace. When I first saw this challenge, I read it be ribbon and lace so went to purchase lace. I originally had this card in my mind to give to my Aunt who just got a new puppy but I created another card for her. The funny irony of this is that my Aunt's granddaughter is Emma.

This month's sponsors are: Digital Delights, Fred She Said, and Lacy Sunshine Stamps.

Come on over to The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog to play along and have some fun.

GCC0127 - Happy Birthday Kim

Another new week and challenge is upon us over at the Outlawz. This week, it's the last of the month so the theme is Anything Goes. We also are creating projects from a new sponsor, Mi Ran. Her images are so cute and spunky and print out very well. This card will be sent to my friend Kim for her birthday in early Feb. She loves sunflowers so when I saw this image, I knew I had to use it for Kim. This year, I strayed away from the purples I normally try and incorporate since Kim's favorite color is purple. I tried my hand at the "crooked layer" since it is becoming so popular lately. That was so hard for me. I seem to be really linear and geometric when I create.

Update 2/4/2014: Kim loved her card. She said it (and I ) are amazing and it was worth the wait. She waited until today (her actual birthday) to open it. I'm glad she really liked it.

This week, our sponsors are Mi Ran and Treasured Times.

Hope you come on over the Outlawz to play along.

Here is the close up of the digital image so you can see the added sunflower seeds made from acrylic paint.

Supplies: Neenah, Bazzill, Bo Bunny (stripe and dots), Shabby Princess (sunflower), Mi Ran stamp (Little Miss Sunshine with Sunflowers), Copics, American Crafts alcohol ink, Cricut, Elegant Edges cartridge, Acrylic paint, Stylus, Studio G.

Welcome Little one - Baby J and Baby boy

I made this card for my friend Jennifer who is expecting a baby girl April 1st. No, not really an April Fool's present as she will probably have her a little early. I am so excited to meet this little bundle of joy after all this time. Jennifer loves bling and animal print (you can see her birthday cards - Happy Birthday Jen, and Happy Birthday Jen). What better way to welcome a new little bundle of joy for Jen with animal print and bling? I didn't have a die cut for a babies onsie so I looked on Pinterest and saw that people had created one so that's what I did. Jennifer has decided on the name Trinity Lynn (or at least that is the name as of now) but we have called her baby J since Jen found out she was having a girl. Once Baby J learns her letters, she will surely wonder why she is called baby J and her name starts with a T. lol. Lynn wants to make a card for her brand new niece that looks like this. I'll take the supplies to her house on craft day so she can make it.

The baby boy card is for my friend and neighbor Laurel. She liked the little girl card so much she wanted one for a coworker who is having a boy. I had to mix it up a little as I didn't want them to be exactly the same other than colors and stamps. The I originally intended to use the stripe side of the blue for the boy onsie but decided the dots looked better. And how cute it that with the little mustache? I cut the little mustache out of a piece of paper from The Paper Studio.

Supplies for girl card: papers - SU vanilla, SU espresso, SU piroque pink, The Paper Studio (glitter and leopard). stamps - SU Riveting, Studio G, accessories - bling, paper piecing, Cuttlebug, SU lattice ef, circle punches, Bazzill floss, mini clothes pins.

Supplies for boy card: papers - Neenah, SU espresso, SU bashful blue, KI Memories, stamps - SU Riveting, Studio G, SU bold alphabet accessories - paper piecing, Cuttlebug, SU lattice ef, Quick Kutz mustache ef, circle punches, bakers twine, mini clothes pins.

GCC0120 - Cute just got Cuter

It's a new week over at the Outlawz so that means a new challenge. This week, the DT members split up and made cards from two different sponsors. I was originally going to have the week off but once I saw the cute image, I just knew I had to participate. The theme is welcome a new baby. My Aunt Karen and Uncle Dave just got a puppy, a shih poo. She is so cute. They named her Lucy and she has a little brown spot on her head and nose. She looks like a mini version of my very first dog - Happy. I'll get to meet this little bundle of fur in June. I used this sketch I found on Pinterest.

This month, our sponsors are Beansie Doodles and All Dressed Up.

Hope you come on over the Outlawz to play along.

Here is Lucy. Isn't she so cute.

Supplies: Neenah, Bazzill (pink and black), Bella Blvd (2-sided paper), All Dressed up digi image, Copics, American Crafts alcohol ink, Cricut, Robotz cartridge, Accent Essentials cartridge, Cuttlebug, Nestabilites, Cuttlebug ef, and heart punch.

Happy Birthday Jen

My friend and coworker Jen is having a birthday on the 17th and she loves all things animal print, hot pink and bling. Boy does she love the bling! I used a different paper than I had intended before. I thought I had this other zebra paper that was black and white but couldn't find which paper pad it was in until after the card was finished. This paper is zebra so it works just as well as the other would have I guess. When I use the glitter paper, I take a picture of the card with the flash so the glitter shows up better.

Supplies: SU vanilla, The Paper Studio (glitter and zebra), Glitter paper from Michaels, SU Haute Couture, Studio 18, SU Wow Flowers, bling, SU label punch, SU border punch, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities.

GCC0113 - Be strong go with your heart

I made this card for the Outlawz greeting card challenge (GCC0113) flourish with a bling. We were to use two designer papers, pearls, ribbon and a sentiment. For some reason, my brain immediately thinks I need to add all sorts of patterns when I'm only using a sentiment. I used this card off Pinterest as my inspiration. I really like this sentiment. I think it's pretty true in a lot of ways.

This week, our sponsor is Flourish with a Bling.

Hope you come on over the Outlawz to play along.

Supplies: Neenah, Crate, SU pirouque pink, SU rose red, Stampabilities, Cricut, Elegant Edges cartridge, Cuttlebug, SU ef, Offray ribbon, other ribbon (pleated below the rose red strip), bakers twine, pearls, heart punch.

GCC0106 - Happy B-day

This week on the Outlawz, we all chose an image from Rick St. Dennis to use on our projects. The theme is My Sentiments Exactly. I chose the Carnevale Masque image. I had this idea in my head and the card came out exactly how I had planned...which is rare. I had to look through all my papers to find the one piece of diamond paper I knew I had. I know I have more, but who knows where it is. I'm glad I found it since that is the look I was going for and planned on using that paper. I used Stickles on the bells of his outfit and added bling. Now, I just need to determine who has a birthday near Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday.

Come on over to the Outlawz to join in our challenges.

This next view, I used the flash so you could see the sparkle of the Stickles, bling, and the glitter paper.

This is a close up of the image.

Supplies: SU vanilla, MME Lost and Found, DCWV stack, The Paper Studio, Bazzill, Rick St. Dennis digi, Copics, American Crafts alcohol inks, Stickles, bling, Cricut, Elegant Edges cartridge, SU stamp.
